Digital Intelligent Medium-Voltage Switchgear
Built for the Digital Power Grid
Ideal for smart substations, solar and energy storage projects, industrial park distribution networks, and large-scale EV charging infrastructure, the switchgear integrates IoT-enabled monitoring, intelligent diagnostics, remote operation, and unattended maintenance capabilities. It empowers operators with greater visibility, faster response times, and more efficient asset management while supporting the development of smarter, more resilient energy systems.
KYN28-12 Digital Intelligent Medium-Voltage Switchgear
KYN28-12 is a 12 kV indoor metal-clad withdrawable switchgear manufactured in accordance with GB 3906, GB/T 11022, and IEC 62271-200 standards. The enclosure is assembled using high-quality aluminum-zinc coated steel sheets and features a four-compartment segregated design, consisting of the busbar compartment, circuit breaker compartment, cable compartment, and instrument compartment.
The switchgear provides an enclosure protection rating of IP4X, with IP2X protection between internal compartments, and is equipped with a comprehensive five-prevention mechanical interlocking system as standard. Designed for use in power plants, substations, industrial and commercial facilities, real estate developments, and renewable energy projects, it is suitable for a wide range of 10 kV medium-voltage distribution systems.
Featuring a modular withdrawable truck design, switchgear units of the same specification offer 100% interchangeability, simplifying maintenance, spare parts management, and system expansion. As one of the most widely deployed and proven medium-voltage switchgear platforms in China, the KYN28-12 has become a benchmark solution for modern power distribution networks.
Advantages & Features
Fully Electric Intelligent Operating System
The switchgear is equipped with a comprehensive motorized operating system, including electrical spring charging for the circuit breaker, motorized withdrawable truck movement, and motorized operation of the earthing switch. Both local and remote control modes are supported, enabling remote opening and closing operations, one-click sequential control, and fully automated switching procedures without requiring on-site personnel intervention.Multi-Dimensional Online Condition Monitoring
The system is equipped as standard with wireless temperature monitoring for busbar joints and cable terminations, an integrated high-definition cabinet camera, online partial discharge monitoring, and temperature and humidity sensors. Abnormal conditions such as overheating or partial discharge are automatically detected, triggering local audible and visual alarms while simultaneously transmitting alerts to the supervisory platform for rapid response.Multi-Protocol Communication and Network Integration
An intelligent protection and control relay is integrated within the low-voltage instrument compartment. The system supports IEC 60870-5-104 (IEC 104), Modbus RTU, and TCP/IP communication protocols, enabling seamless integration with distribution automation terminals (DTUs), industrial park energy management systems, and utility control centers. It supports the full range of SCADA functions, including telemetry, telesignaling, remote control, and remote parameter adjustment.Intelligent Condensation Prevention and Predictive Maintenance
Temperature- and humidity-controlled heaters are automatically operated within the cable and instrument compartments to prevent condensation and moisture accumulation. Operational data is securely stored in the cloud, enabling full lifecycle asset management, intelligent fault diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and proactive operation and maintenance alerts.
