KYN28-12 Utility-Approved Medium-Voltage Switchgear

KYN28-12 is a 12 kV indoor metal-clad withdrawable switchgear manufactured in accordance with GB 3906, GB/T 11022, and IEC 62271-200 standards. The enclosure is assembled using high-quality aluminum-zinc coated steel sheets and features a four-compartment segregated design, consisting of the busbar compartment, circuit breaker compartment, cable compartment, and instrument compartment.

The switchgear provides an enclosure protection rating of IP4X, with IP2X protection between internal compartments, and is equipped with a comprehensive five-prevention mechanical interlocking system as standard. Designed for use in power plants, substations, industrial and commercial facilities, real estate developments, and renewable energy projects, it is suitable for a wide range of 10 kV medium-voltage distribution systems.

  • Rigorous Five-Prevention Mechanical Interlocking System
    The circuit breaker truck, featuring Service, Test, and Isolated positions, is mechanically interlocked with the earthing switch and cabinet door through a mandatory three-way interlocking mechanism. This system effectively prevents unsafe operations such as withdrawing the breaker truck under load, closing the breaker with the earthing switch engaged, or accessing energized compartments. All switching operations can be performed with the compartment door closed, providing enhanced personnel safety and operational security.

  • Internal Arc-Resistant and Explosion-Mitigation Design
    The enclosure is equipped with pressure-relief flaps on the top of the cabinet to safely release arc-generated pressure in the event of an internal fault. The design provides internal arc protection capability up to 31.5 kA for 1 second, minimizing the impact of arc faults on personnel and equipment. Fully insulated heat-shrink busbar coverings and compliant phase-to-phase and phase-to-earth insulation clearances further reduce the risk of flashover and fault propagation.

    A complete range of standardized primary system configurations is available, including incoming feeders, metering panels, PT panels, outgoing feeders, and bus sectionalizing panels. The switchgear supports both single-busbar and single-busbar sectionalized arrangements. It is compatible with widely used withdrawable vacuum circuit breakers such as VS1 and VD4, ensuring easy spare-parts management, simplified maintenance, and long-term operational convenience.
